Come hang out with some women in the woods while learning to read and connect with the landscape in a new way! We'll explore the arts of tracking animals and landscapes, decode the language of birdsong, sit with plants and maybe nibble a bit, practice some useful survival and craft skills, and spend time in Peterborough's beautiful green spaces.
Where: revolving locations in the Peterborough area. When: One Saturday per month. Hours may vary from month to month. Who: women, trans, & gender nonconforming folks (and keen teens & older kids) of all ages and identities are welcome! If you have mobility issues, please get in touch in advance to discuss your needs. Cost: pay-what-you-want. NEXT PROGRAM IS OCTOBER 16, 2O16, from noon to 4pm at Jackson Park. Skills covered this month may include some or all of the following: Sense and nature awareness Natural cordage harvest and crafting Hide stretching Acorn harvesting This workshop will be facilitated by the awesome Beige McIntosh, who is fresh from a summer of living close to the land in the beautiful Nemaiah Valley in BC.
